Supervisor, Inventory Analysis and Service Parts Planning

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to show off your forecasting and analysis skills in inventory forecasting systems (DRP) as well as your interpersonal finesse as you manage relations with our vendors in Japan.
Your high level mission will be to optimize the inventory management function for a vehicle distributor with a world-wide reputation for leadership and innovation. This involves managing inventory in remote warehouses from which the Isuzu dealerships order parts. To keep these two warehouses optimally stocked, you will order parts from vendors in Japan, negotiate prices, forecast and analyze inventory stock levels and order based on those forecasts.

If you have...
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years of directly related inventory forecasting, analysis and planning experience in the area of service parts supply, distribution, and data systems.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Extensive knowledge of spare, service, or replacement parts inventory control
- Knowledge of Distribution Resource Planning (DRP) or inventory forecasting systems, such as SAP & Manugistics from a user or system administrator perspective.
- Strong leadership and team building skills.
- Outstanding project management, time management and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced computer proficiency in MS Excel.
- Xelus software (Plan) experience is a plus.

More About Your Role
Reporting to our Manager of Parts Inventory Control & PIO, you will oversee five employees including Parts Supply Planning Administrators & Parts Supply Planners, as you take charge of our Inventory function and drive its improvement.
Coming aboard, you'll aim to "hit the ground running" and quickly develop an understanding of our system and environment so that you can begin making a real impact within short order. There are several goals you'll immediately tackle; these include:
- Maintaining our inventory fill-rate objectives.
- Building strong working relationships with your team as well as our vendors in Japan; you will run our weekly conference calls with Japan and proactively stay on top of all emerging issues.
- Assessing the performance of your team and motivating them to achieve higher levels of performance.
In general, your responsibilities will be to:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and supervise Inventory Control personnel to maintain a target service level to our customers while maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and productivity within the group.
- Serve as the Xelus Plan system administrator; you will be responsible for identifying, testing, implementing, and reviewing any changes or enhancements that are needed to meet business requirements. You'll also drive any necessary procedural or systems training, including PII and Xelus.
- Perform audits and review procedures within the Inventory Control group and make recommendations to improve automation, inventory efficiency, and productivity.
- Ensure the timely procurement of provisioning, maintenance, and post production requirements of service parts for all Japan and domestic parts purchases and inventory control.
- Take a lead role in analyzing and monitoring Isuzu's forecasts to its vendors and recalibrating the forecast models as necessary.
- Prepare special reports/analyses as required for management.
- Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.
